My name’s Doug Bolton, and I’m a 24 year old marketer.
I’m originally from Darlington, but escaped to do an English BA at The University of Liverpool in 2011. Betraying my Northern roots entirely, I moved to London in September 2014, to do an MA in Interactive Journalism at City University. After some work experience and temporary positions at major national newspapers, I started working at The Independent as a casual shift reporter towards the end of my degree. I was permanently hired after I handed in my last piece of coursework, and later became a technology and science reporter at the paper.
I left The Independent in May 2016, and in June left London and the UK entirely to move to Gothenburg, Sweden, where I began working in online marketing.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing the piano, and learning Swedish.
